About Us

Ashland Pack 3001 - familiarly referred to as "Pack 1" - has been in Ashland for over 65 years.

A bit of history:

In 1910, Boy Scouts of America was incorporated on February 8.
In 1930, "Cubbing" was formally launched in 1930.
In 1945, "Cubbing" changed to "Cub Scouting."
In 1947, Pack 1 was started in Ashland.
In 2005, Cub Scouting celebrated its 75th Anniversary: "75 Years of Fun, Family, and Friends."
In 2010, Boy Scouts of America celebrates its 100th Anniversary.

The Cub Scout year coincides with the school year.  We have our first Pack meeting in September and finish with our year end Crossover Picnic in June where the boys each advance one rank.

The boy’s rank is determined by what grade he is in and when he joined scouting:

Bobcat       all boys must first earn their Bobcat rank before advancing to the next rank.
Tigers        1st Graders
Wolves       2nd Graders
Bears         3rd Graders
Webelos     4th and 5th Graders

Note:  As of June 1, 2015, while the ranks will remain, the advancement requirements for each will be updated. Click here for details.

There is an annual registration fee of $75 for your first boy in the Cub Scout pack, and $50 for each additional brother.
